Sedimentary Rocks with Volcanic Heritage |
Clastic volcanic rocks are fragmental rocks that are predominantly composed of volcanic material. The group includes pyroclastic rocks that formed from hot, volcanic surges; materials that deposited from eruptive columns, autobrecciated during cooling, or formed by transport of volcanic material in landslides and mudflows. In this section, we also include peperite formed by the the intrusion of volcanic material into unconsolidated sediments. |
